WHAT CATESBY BELIEVES IN
BUSINESS VALUES
When I created my company it was hard. I worked all the time. I got paid little. What little I made, I put back in the company. It took years to make my business successful. I never complained. I like working hard, creating something with my own two hands, making a difference.
As my company grew, so did my responsibilities. I had employees, clients, customers. I had to organize. I had to motivate. I had to lead. My company grew larger, faced stiff competition and I had to use all of my skills to keep a step ahead. My business has taken me around the world to different cultures and taught me how to compete in today's global marketplace
This is what the Founding Fathers had in mind for the life of a public servant: work hard, take care of your business and family and offer yourself in the service of your neighbors. I give back to the community because I know that life can be hard. I fight for all of those things that make the American dream possible. I know what it's like to maintain a budget, I know what it's like to provide jobs. I know what it's like to be an ordinary person trying to build a future for his family. I'm not a politician. I'm a businessman and I still love to work hard, make tough decisions. Its time to elect a representative with real world experience.
FOREIGN AFFAIRS
Congress serves the nation. Representatives need to know about the people they represent. They also have to know about national matters. I studied foreign affairs in school and my business has given me the opportunity to travel the world trading with other nations and participating in the global economy. I know how to approach people from many parts of the world. I also listen to what they tell me about America, and they listen to what I have to say about America and the world. My international experience will be an asset to the 1st District.
HERITAGE
The First District is the birthplace of America. Some of the oldest counties in the United States are in the First District. Since Colonial times, the people in the First District have made America great. For those of us who call this District home, we have a duty to do more than most Congressional districts -- we have the obligation to help lead the nation with our values, our qualities, and our ideas. These attributes made America the great power that she is today and these qualities that will keep America strong!
